It’s common for kids to start wondering about ATV riding when they see their parents, relatives or friends ride an ATV. The opportunity to control a machine like an ATV is overwhelming even for little kids! After all, there is a very good reason why even huge men like me are slaves (I hate to use the word ‘slave’ but heck, just to prove a point here, I’ll use it) to ATVs. So, the question now would be, when is the right time to invest in a mini ATV for your kid? How do you know your kid’s big enough, strong enough, mature enough for his or her own mini ATV for kids? The strange thing about parents is this – many parents of boys worry that their kids are going to go totally ballistic over their own mini ATVs for kids. But I assure you, the balance between boys and girls owning mini ATVs is no longer so lop-sided. Many more little girls are into mini ATV riding these days!

I don’t blame you for being a little worried about buying a mini ATV the kid – apart from the safety concern, there’s also the financial issue. Mini ATVs are not really expensive these days. I have to admit that while the prices of mini ATVs for kids are dropping, the manufacturers are keeping an eagle eye out for the quality. That’s good news for you and me, folks. Although mini ATVs for kids are no longer as expensive as they used to be, it’s still a heavy investment for the parent. I know…when you purchase a mini ATV for your kid, you’d want the mini ATV to last like…..a million years…but it won’t and this is a fact. Mini ATVs, no matter how good the quality, is going to fall apart bit by bit. Even a huge five grand ATV like mine can fall apart, imagine what will happen to a mini ATV for kids when your kids are going through the learning curve bit.

While I can’t say for sure when is the right time to invest in a mini ATV for your kid, all I know is that parents know best! Yes, you do! So, you be the judge and all I can tell you is that there are a couple of things you should look at before you get your kid a mini ATV of his or her own. It’s not rocket science because most of this stuff is basic and general things you would have wanted to look at when deliberating whether to buy a bike for the kid or not. It’s the same thing here but I am hoping you’re a human reading this and human beings forget stuff. I always work with a checklist so for your benefit, this is a checklist of things you should look out for before getting a mini ATV for your kid.

    • YOUR budget….can your accounts or credit card hold the weight of a new mini ATV for kids? Don’t kid yourself, OK? This is the time to be practical here.

    • KID serious or playing a fool? Have a little chit-chat with the kid about owning his or her own mini ATV.

    • KID understands rules about ATV riding or not? Enroll the fella into a mini ATV riding school. Tons of them everywhere. If you can’t find one, check out forums and internets.

    • KID’s maturity. You be the judge. Some kids are better with their mini ATVs for kids than others.
