As part of their expansion plan, journalist and various writers from many leading magazines were invited to watch the manufacturing process of the popular KingQuad 450. The Suzuki KingQuad 450 is a smaller and less powerful version of the KingQuad 700. Suzuki is new in Rome and only began producing ATVs in 2002 and they started producing the KingQuad 450 only about a month ago. This is to ensure that they have enough to go around when they finally and officially launch the product. If everything goes according to plan, the Suzuki KingQuad 450 will be available in retail stores on Friday. The Suzuki plant in Rome has grown over the years and now employs 350 people now and they expect the company to grow even more soon. Sales Supervisor of the Suzuki plant in Rome , Alan Horne says that this year, 2006, has been an incredible year for them and there has been tremendous growth in this very short period of time. With the growth, the Suzuki plant in Rome is now able to produce much more than ever before. Representatives of the Suzuki plant says that they will continue to expand the plant and the plan is to produce more than 60,000 ATVs this year. last year, the ATV output for the plant was about 45,000, so, as you can see, the growth is simply explosive. Since they are planning to launch the new KingQuad 450 soon, Suzuki invited journalists from ATV magazines and their dealers to come watch the production process and at the same time, have a test drive on their machines. The development of the KingQuad 450 is hardly surprising as the 700 model is already very successful. Suzuki said that they are trying to ride on the wave of success that the KingQuad 700 has created every since the ‘80s. Seems as though everything is going extremely well for Suzuki in Rome – not only are their internal sales on a rise, their export sales have increased by 25% with a large number of Suzukis being exported to Canada.
