Polaris announces changes in their ATV marketing plan

It's no news that Polaris Industries Inc. has been suffering from a downward dip in their sales as Polaris have publicly informed the industry that they are not been performing as well as they should have been and have not been selling as many ATVs around the world as they thought they were going to. Tom Tiller's challenge to the CEOs of other ATV manufacturers is sure sign that they are trying to use a different tactic to help sell their ATVs faster. Although Tom Tiller's, (the CEO of Polaris Industries Inc.) challenge was unchallenged, the deed is done. Polaris' challenge reverberated through the cyberspace and newspapers clamor for more updates on Polaris latest marketing invention. But in the end, nothing happened and Tom Tiller was unceremoniously announced as a winner – by virtue of a walk-over.

And now Polaris reveals everything…open the book and announced that Polaris is making targeted organizational changes. This is an effort in trying to improve Polaris' plan in raising the sale of ATVs over the next year. The main motive of the change to Polaris' organization change is to find more sources across their network and bring the cost of producing the ATVs down to the bare minimum so that the Polaris ATVs are cheaper (read: more competitive).

The CEO of Polaris admits that this is not an easy decision because Polaris, being one of the leaders in the ATV industry, have been basking in the glory of knowing that they are always better and always ahead of their competitors. Now that times are different and the ATV industry is getting rougher and tougher, change has become inevitable. If their plan works out, Polaris will be selling more affordable ATVs and it will appeal to more ATV fans who can afford to buy Polaris ATVs. This, says Tom Tiller, is a three—pronged approach to making Polaris ATVs more attractive to the market. They are confident that these changes will help raise their market share but they do feel a little sad that they have to ‘release' 53 of their permanent staff, 24 temporary hired hands interns and contractors located from all over the world.
