Dustin Wimmer – the ATV superstar of tomorrow
Apr 30, 2007
With much confidence, we dare say that as of today and the next few years to come, not many other ATV racers today have the same level of confidence, control and skill as one as talented as Dustin Wimmer. Give him his ATV and he is in complete control. This confidence and power is demonstrated during the A-Class National Championship by winning seven out of the eight races recently. The one time he didn't take top placing, Mother Nature wasn't in a good mood and that was in Birch Creek. Never before in the history of A Class Nationals has the competition wrapped up three rounds ahead of time! So, not only did Dustin Wimmer show everyone who is boss, he created history as well. More than happy to dominate the A Class, he is said to be even happier to be at the top for the Pro Am Class, which is a dream come true for this young lad. From the starting line, Dustin Wimmer has given ATV racing his life and future. From 2001 when he won the Open B and Air-Cooled class, nobody was able to take the wind away from his guy. I mean, the next year, he was only one measly point away from winning the four-stroke A Class and third in the A Class. Despite the dominance and show of power, Dustin Wimmer remains humble and extremely down-to-earth. He is unsure of what he will take on next year but he is thankful for all that he has achieved thus far. Very few ATV racers can come close to ‘the kid' Wimmer except for, maybe, Nate Frees and Gil Attix in the Pro Am series. The only problem for the winner in Wimmer is….yes, school. Like any other young lads his age, having a career and also the responsibility of performing well in school is stressful. Extensive training is required each time he needs to race and he admits to having problems juggling both career and school. He is uncertain, still, about his options and about what will happen in Pro Class. Gil Attix is one of the stronger ATV racers in the same league (and team) as Dustin Wimmer. When asked if it was difficult to compete against his own teammate and good friends, he said that although it can be tough racing against your buddy, each of them know the other's move. Hence, it makes racing against the other person just a little bit easier. Dustin Wimmer, although regarded as the ATV racer of the future, show no signs of becoming big headed. His lack of air and love for his parents' devotion to his career shows that not only is Dustin Wimmer big on the ATV racing track, he's big at home too. We hope Dustin Wimmer will continue to burn the tracks all throughout the year. More information about Dustin Wimmer
