Dominican Republic is my ATV Paradise

by Frank DeJubb

I never really believed that there's a Paradise in this world because I think Paradise is very subjective. Some thinks that the Antarctica is Paradise while some think that the Bahamas is (ask the locals if they're living in Paradise and you'll get a different answer) but it's only when you step foot on the Dominican Republic will you really know for yourself that you've found YOUR paradise. In fact, in my personal opinion, the Dominican Republic should be everyone's paradise.

Not wanting to sound like I am writing a travel documentary, let's just say that the water is CRYSTAL CLEAR and the beaches divine! You'll never see so many coconut trees in your life back-dropped by mountains – and for an ATV fan like me, I felt like I was like a kid in a candy store and the owner of the store just said, ‘It's all yours! Chew on!'

The number of ATV trails is so many that I truly felt how it felt like to be overwhelmed. The ATV trails are often designed to go across the unbelievable astounding countryside and beaches. There shouldn't be any problems with lodging because there are many expatriate-run bed and breakfasts scattered all around the town area. Most of them are well-kept and goes for a decent pricing.

I reckon 1 or 2 days is not enough for ATV freaks – heck, a lifetime isn't enough for me. I felt that the 1 week I spent in the Dominican Republic dashing through the beaches on my ATV was way too short! During that time, I spent time cruising along the beaches of Playa Bonita…it was a splendid experience! And the day we went to the Frontera Race course was totally IT!

All in all, I had loads of beaches to ride on, fantastic trails to thrill me, plenty of clubs to dance on, more beautiful exotic women to look at than ever before and amazing locals to help me around. To top it all off, the rental ATVs were in pretty good shape. Maybe that's because I've heard horror stories about the kind of rental ATVs you can find there.

Maybe I am just lucky. Or maybe it wasn't luck. Maybe it's because Dominican Republic is MY paradise after all.
