We were thinking, for $330 for a muffler, they'd better be good! But the Yamaha GYT-R Raptor 700 delivers as promised. But that's the good thing about Yamaha, when they promise, they usually deliver. Well, for starters, this ATV muffler is more than just your ordinary ATV muffler. It is a slip-on muffler (easy installation for ATV dummies) that makes installing all that much easier and hassle-free. On top of that this ATV muffler's most distinguished characteristic is that it is a ball-burnished 6061-t6 extruded aluminum can. This makes this ATV muffler a pretty sturdy one that can within weather, beatings, time and rough rides!
We saw that this ATV muffler is designed for closed course competition. But if you want to use it for usual track riding, you can install the Quiet Muffler Endcap for a quieter ride. Otherwise, you'll wake the neighbors each time you decide to take the ATV for a ride around the backyard.
However, this Yamaha ATV muffler comes with a 2-piece endcap anyway with hard-anodized aluminum coating. Therefore, this muffler is a really high quality one. if that is not enough, this ATV muffler is a totally rebuildable one. and it features a inlet and inlet cap which promises you a 16% increase in low to mid range horse power when using a high flow air filter.
For sure, you'll find this Yamaha ATV muffler extremely easy to install and remove. And we appreciate the fact that it is very clean-looking and provides a very shiny feel to it. The only installation hitch we encountered was when we had to install the vibration reduction rubber grommets. But this can be easily solved by wetting it a little before trying to put in on.
For ATV riders who like a throaty sound when they ride their ATV, you can be sure that if you've installed this Yamaha ATV muffler right, you'll not only get a very nice vibrating sound from the muffler but you'll also find that there are absolutely no leaks and everything is absolutely nice-fitting! Manufacturer defects are rare whenever you purchase from such a renowned brand as Yamaha. You'll certainly like the way it sounds when you fire up your ATV…this much we can promise you!
After installing the Yamaha ATV muffler, we thought that not only did it sound good, there was also a noticeable power increase. However, we think that the difference might be more noticeable for low to mid range ATVs.
So, if you ask us if this Yamaha ATV muffler worth the $330 (current pricing) that it costs, we say it is if you're a hard core ATV fan who loves nothing more than to announce your arrival whenever you're on the track!
